[from Johnson Creek Airport to Upper Loon Creek]

continuing my exploration trips around the brilliant CRM region i found my way into the rugged rural mountain county of custer. the flight starts at 3u2 johnson creek airport, follows the valleys and rivers past s81, 2u8, 0u3, id67 before finally landing at u72.

note: i changed ALL pictures of the blog from PNG to JPG to preserve more serverspace and reduce bandwidth... i basically had to edit all postings and therefore the captions i wrote under most pictures are now gone... meh.

parked at johnson creek.

found this new paintjob for the cub with the help of the guys over at the FTX forum. thankyou!

love the totally used up look of the cockpit

lovely clouds, they will disappear soon!

getting hot in the cabin, an open window will help with that!

nice ground features.

around 8000ft height. i had to climb forever in circles before i was able to fly over here!

from now on its going easier :)

not much happening in this remote area.

airport spotted!

carb heat on, throttle back, tight curve, bushflyerstyle!

careful with the tundras, best to pull back right before touchdown and do a three pointer!

taking a break.

off we go, notice the change in landscape!

deserted old strip? just flying over!

now this one does look tempting. lets do a touch and go!

rolling

at the end of the runway it goes steeply down!

following the river

id67 airport - thought i spotted an unkown bug! but was already reported! :)

landscape turned green again

don't come to close to the rocks!

not much to see here, but it was a fun flight!
