[eastward]

after seeing screenshots and exploring the region via the google earth kmz i just couldnt resist to spent the cash for the brand new orbx NA gold central rocky mountains pack. it expands the coverage from pnw way eastward and presents a very diverse and different setting that should be good for endless exploration trips!

after downloading the 4GB package, installation, defragmentation and a long time exploring a location for the first trip i decided to dive right into the middle and ended up at U37 (midway airport, atomic city, idaho), since it has this nice desert look to it!

parked at atomic city airport in idaho.. isnt as exciting as the name would suggest :)

this small gravelstrip has a nice photoreal touch.

almost featureless landscape, but i love this desert atmosphere.

and there are still things to see out here! approaching the big southern butte!

nice variation in ground features makes exploration interesting!

big lava dome thingy in the snake river plain.

and theres a little dirtstrip right around there too!

lets take a break there.

wind was on my side! usually you should do a flyby first to check winds...

fraternating with campers? maybe!

into the desert!

can't wait for orbX to reach the las vegas area, nevada will be glorious with FTX!

shimmering green at the horizon!

circles approaching!

i love those fields, we don't have them here in europe, never seen them before!

from circles...

... to squares

and everything in between.

enough for now. lets orientate and approach the airport ahead!

there it is, should be u36

turning

lining up

easy!

can't wait to explore more of crm!
